izmio Community Guidelines

Draft — requires review by a qualified attorney before publication

Effective date: [DATE] · Last updated: [DATE]

izmio is a global circle of people who gather around sound. These guidelines keep it warm, honest and safe. They apply everywhere you share something through izmio: live circles, share cards, journal text you choose to share, Founding Guide circles and any future community features. They are part of our Terms of Use.

Our three promises to each other

  1. Kindness. Come as you are, and let others do the same.
  2. Honesty. Share your experience, not promises. Tradition is tradition; science is science.
  3. Safety. Look after yourself and each other, and get real help when you need it.

Live circles

  • Circles are shared listening moments. In this version there is no chat or audio from listeners; you can send gentle reactions, which appear to others without your name.
  • Don't misuse reactions (for example, automated or repeated tapping to disrupt a circle).
  • Listener counts are real. Don't try to inflate them with scripts, extra accounts or devices.
  • When chat or text features arrive, these guidelines apply to everything you write there.

Journal and journal sharing

  • Your journal is private. It is stored on your device, encrypted, unless you turn on sync. Write whatever you want there; we don't read or moderate private entries.
  • If you add journal text to a share card or post it anywhere, it becomes public. Think before you share, and never share someone else's private information or story without their permission.
  • If you share something about your health, remember that other people may read it as advice. Describe your experience ("this is how my evenings feel now"), not a medical result.

Share cards

  • Share cards celebrate your practice: minutes, streaks, journeys, circles and intentions. They use approved izmio wording.
  • Don't edit or caption izmio cards to claim izmio fixed a health problem, made you money, or kept animals or insects away. izmio makes no such claims, and edited cards carrying our name and design can mislead others.
  • Don't use share cards or referral links for spam.

Things we don't allow anywhere on izmio

  • Medical advice or harmful health claims, including telling anyone to stop, skip or replace medical treatment or medication, or promising that a sound can make an illness go away.
  • Financial promises, such as guaranteed income or "this frequency will make you rich."
  • Harassment, bullying, threats or hate based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, caste, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age or serious illness.
  • Sexual content, and anything that sexualizes minors (we report it to the authorities).
  • Violence or self-harm encouragement.
  • Spam, selling or advertising, including unsolicited promotion of products, services or other apps (Founding Guides follow their own disclosed partnership rules).
  • Impersonation of other people, izmio staff, izmio Guide or Founding Guides.
  • Private information about others (addresses, phone numbers, health details) without permission.
  • Illegal activity or content that infringes someone's copyright, trademark or other rights.
  • Manipulation of the service, including fake accounts, bots and attempts to inflate counts.

If you are struggling

If you or someone in the community seems to be in crisis, please reach out for real help. In the US, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline). In an emergency, call 911. If you see something in izmio that suggests someone is in danger, report it to us right away.

Founding Guides and hosts

Founding Guides and hosts are real people who lead circles. In addition to these guidelines, they:

  • follow izmio's claims rules: tradition and experience language only, no health, financial or animal-effect promises;
  • clearly disclose their partnership with izmio when they promote it (for example, "#ad" or "Paid partnership with izmio", spoken and on screen);
  • never ask listeners for personal health information or money.

izmio Guide, the voice that opens many circles, is an AI voice and is always labeled as AI.

Reporting and blocking

  • Report content or behavior using the report option in the app where available, or email [email protected] [VERIFY mailbox] with what you saw, where and when.
  • Where izmio shows content from other users, you can block or hide that user. [VERIFY: v1 shows only anonymous reactions; add in-app report and block before any user-to-user text or profiles launch, per App Store guideline 1.2 and Google Play UGC policy.]
  • We review reports as quickly as we can, prioritizing safety risks.

What happens when guidelines are broken

Depending on how serious it is, we may remove content, limit features, issue a warning, or suspend or close an account. We may report illegal content to the authorities. If you think we made a mistake, write to [email protected] within 30 days and we will take another look.
